Souvlaki Pork with Options

Souvlaki Pork (sheet pan, kebabs, skillet)

Souvlaki Pork (sheet pan, kebabs, skillet)

You have options!

  • 1 1/2-2 lbs pork stew meat
  • 2-4 bell peppers, any color
  • One package Epicure Chicken Souvlaki Seasoning (or 2-3 T souvlaki or greek seasoning)
  • 3 T olive oil
  • juice of 1/2 lemon (about 2 T)
  • pitas, optional (see options in notes)
  • Tzatziki, optional
  • thinly sliced potatoes, optional
  • thinly sliced onions, optional

For FREEZER meal prep:

Put pork, oil, souvlaki seasoning and lemon juice in gallon freezer bag OR your favorite freezer storage container. Knead contents of bag OR stir ingredients together. If cooking immediately, continue with instructions. Otherwise, freeze!

Preheat oven to 400° F. Line a Sheet Pan with a Bake & Roll.

Slice pepper into thin strips.

Spread pork and veggies on prepared pan. Roast until meat is cooked through and peppers are tender, 10-15 min.

Chop the peppers (and optional veggies) into chunks and thread on to kebab sticks for grilling.

Sautee in a cast iron skillet.

Serve in warm pitas.

Serve atop a greek style salad.

Some people prefer their peppers NOT be frozen for a freezer meal but added fresh. I suggest freezing ONLY if you are sauteeing in a skillet and don't mind softer peppers.

Consider adding onions and potatoes, as well!
