Asian Spaghetti

This is a familiar dish that everyone (meaning picky kids) can embrace, but with a different flavor to add some variety to your meal plan.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound spaghetti, uncooked
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1-2 large onions, diced
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 pounds ground meat of choice (you can combine different ones)
  • 1 quart Roma tomatoes or 2 14oz cans diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 6oz can tomato paste
  • 2 heaping tablespoons Epicure Ginger Sesame dressing mix

Instructions

Heat the pot over medium high heat. Add 1 tbsp olive oil and when hot, add onions and garlic. Saute, stirring until the onions are translucent.

Add meat and break up the meat until lightly browned.

Add tomatoes with the liquid, soy sauce, tomato paste, and Ginger Sesame dressing mix. Bring to a simmer. Simmer for about 25 minutes until liquid is reduced by a quarter. I usually just keep it in the slow cooker on low all afternoon.

Add reserved pasta to the pot and stir gently, mixing the sauce and noodles together OR top pasta with the sauce.

Notes

You could easily make this a freezer meal by combining all the ingredients and freezing. Then defrost and cook together, either stove top, Instant Pot or slow cooker style.
