Greek Burgers

A flavorful burger (or meat loaf) that is easy to prep as a freezer meal. Price goes up with feta cheese, but it's worth it!

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup dried onion flakes
  • 1 TBS Epicure Souvlaki Seasoning OR Epicure Greek Dressing Mix
  • 1-2 tsp salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 lb ground meat of choice
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats (try regular, quick cook, or blend yourself, to preference)
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Instructions

Whisk first 6 ingredients in a big bowl. If you don't have a BIG bowl, have another one nearby. Add ground meat, oats and feta and mix with a big spoon or your hands (wet them first). Use two bowls, if needed, to really distribute all the yummy flavors evenly. Form 8-10 patties or sliders. Grill or cook over high heat, adjusting cooking time for size of patties and "doneness" preference.

Notes

We need 8 burgers per meal, but halve this recipe if you only need four. I can get 9 or 10 good-sized burgers from this recipe.

FOR FREEZER MEALS, you can pre-make your patties, freezing them BEFORE storing. OR you can freeze in a loaf/blob and make the patties right before cooking.

This would make a delish meat loaf. I'll update with cooking times if/when I make it that way.

  1. I wrap my burgers individually so I can take out just the amount I need. Our children live nearby and sometimes just drop by so I’m always ready. Phyllis

  2. Oh what a great tip, Phyllis! I always make ALLLLLL of mine at once because they’ll be needed for leftovers. I think I could still pull mine out individually without wrapping because I freeze them separately and they don’t stick together too bad when I do put them in the bag together. Thank you for sharing!
