Chef Junior Book Review

If you ask me, a pretty boring adult, the Chef Junior Cookbook is gorgeous. It looks gorgeous and it feels gorgeous. It would make a WONDERFUL gift for the kids in your life. It’s got practical skills and recipes, but also special ones. As you might guess from my other posts, I strongly believe kids need to have solid kitchen skills well before they hit middle school. START THEM EARLY. This book is a great way to do so.

But I figured I should get a kid’s perspective, so I enlisted my 13 year old daughter, who also enjoys cooking.

Chef Junior is a cookbook for kids, written by kids. Your kids will love the real food ingredients (it’s allergy-friendly!) and the independence they gain in the kitchen.

It ALL looks yummy!

But here’s what my daughter loved:

  • great cooking and food prep tips
  • beautiful graphics and layout
  • colorful pictures
  • simple, but yummy recipes
  • allergy friendly
  • every single thing looked good

And here are the recipes that appealed to her most:

  • Margherita pizza
  • Coconut nuggets
  • Berry yogurt ice pops
  • Strawberry cheesecake
  • Pinto Gallo

Guess which recipe out of those she had to try first?

It was delish.
