Battle of the Natural Deodorants (reviews of Earthley, type:A and Lume)

Too busy to read now? Click here to get this post emailed directly to you as a PDF.

I’m finally getting around to my natural (non-aluminum) deodorant review.  I’m so thrilled to because I think I’ve found the answer to “perma-stink.”  You know how you have a shirt you love but it starts to stink as soon as you wear it?  Lume deodorant fixes this!  I was totally skeptical.  But I’m wearing previously perma-stinky items and now lamenting the ones I finally tossed in a fit of hopelessness.  Lume has saved my tee shirt stash!!!!

And THAT’S why I feel finding a great deodorant can boost your productivity!  I hated having to wash my shirts after one wear (unproductive use of time, natural resources, etc.).  I hated buying a shirt that started stinking after a wear or two (unproductive use of time, money and natural resources).  I hated forgetting the shirt was perma-stinky and being reminded while out and about.  Lume to the rescue!

Lume has no referral program or discount code for me to offer.  Earthley and type:A do and are so linked. I do receive a (very small) referral kickback if you click and purchase.  That helps me keep this site running so I can continue to share such goodness with you.

But I also love Earthley Detox Deo and Type:A!  It’s a little ridiculous to have three deodorants floating around, but – oh well. I guess I’ll be ridiculous.  I love how natural Earthley is!  And I love how portable and effective Type:A is, both as deodorant and an antiperspirant. It uses glycerine, which seems kind of genius to me.

Instead of writing out all the info in the super clever, engaging way you expect of me 🙄, I made a chart so you can easily find the info most important to YOU and your armpits.  Please ask if you have any questions.

claim to fame100% pure ingredients, detoxifying properties, actually HEALTHY for you. Here's my very detailed review.type:A is a glycerin-based formula. When glycerin comes into contact with moisture (i.e. your sweat) it sucks it up like a sponge. Plus, glycerin helps your skin stay soft and smooth.
Suspended in type:A's glycerin is a complex of ingredients that prevent odor and protect against wetness including zeolites, silver, zinc, baking soda, arrowroot powder and more.
These active ingredients are released little by little, each time you sweat, mimicking a time-release effect.
The formula acts like an invisible shield on your skin, waiting patiently to defeat odor and sweat as it happens.
Uber scientific trials developed a Deodorant that works by completely halting the odor-causing reactions on external skin. Other products say they inhibit bacterial growth, and we do that too while maintaining the healthy physiological pH of our skin.
Lume blocks the ability for bacteria to consume fluids like sweat, semen, urine, and blood that lead to odor. We are unlike any other product on the market today.

scent/optionssix lovely ones, including unscentedthree. I'm not currently seeing unscented, though.two - unscented and lavendar/sage. One of my kids described it as "bread-y." She actually prefers the unscented (bread-y) version to the scented. It does have a unique scent but I don't care because it WORKS.

other notesWorks nicely with Pit Paste. I have not yet tried the PLUS version with french clay.Best travel option for me. De-stinking and wetness protection, packable packaging, no leaking or melting.Prevents clothing from taking on stink. REALLY! Lots of info on this found here, though I didn't go all out on the suggested treatments. I did buy Odo-ban and just sprayed as I found items that needed it.

Claims it helps with other private parts. I get the feet thing, but have trouble imagining the other problems this claims to solve? At least without blushing!

Over time can be used less frequently.
